IN SHORT
Any of your details collected are for use by us and affiliates/colleagues (eg NPA partners) only. We won’t share your information with any third parties without your prior consent, unless we’re legally required to do so. The intent of collecting that information is to assist in recruitment or other employment related services.

This may include one or more of the following:

  • Assistance in finding you permanent or temporary employment.
  • To provide you with career information and resume advice.

Will we disclose your information to others?
We will only disclose your personal information to other people or organisations for the purposes outlined in this statement. Depending upon the particular service(s) we are providing to you, and where appropriate, we may disclose your personal information to, or collect it from:

  • Government departments
  • Potential employers
  • Your employer, or a previous employer
  • Personal and/or business referees
  • Workers compensation insurers
  • Any other Party with your written consent.

Any personal information we collect is necessary to firstly provide you with a service as discussed and agreed upon and secondly to meet the requirements of taxation, Superannuation, corporation and/or family law.  This is only requested when relevant, otherwise is not asked for nor collected and stored, nor will it be supplied, should it become known, without a lawful request by a legitimate authority as above.

What if you choose not to supply us with this information?

We only ask for information that is necessary for us to provide the service(s) that you agree/request of us. Should you choose not to provide the information that we request, we may not be able to provide you with some of these services.

You can request access to your information

Subject to some exceptions that are set out in the National Privacy Principles (Principle 6 – Access and Correction), you have the right to see and have a copy of personal and sensitive information we hold about you. Should you wish to request access to your information, our contact details are shown at the end of this document.
If you are able to establish that personal or sensitive information that we hold about you is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, we will take reasonable steps to correct it so that it is accurate, complete and up to date.

Photographic
Depending on the nature of employment you are applying for, Howard James Career and Recruitment Services may request to take and store a digital image of you to keep attached to your file. Having your image on file will assist us, to recall you and the details of your interview.
Whilst this is beneficial, it is not essential.

SMS and Email

Howard James Career and Recruitment Services may wish to send you an SMS or email about future employment opportunities with Howard James Career and Recruitment Services. This service will not be used for marketing purposes, except to advise you of opportunities and information pertinent to representing you as a recruitment company.

Website

Whenever you use our web site, or any other web site, the computer on which the web pages are stored (the Web server) needs to know the network address of your computer so that it can send the requested web pages to your Internet browser. The unique network address of your computer is called its “IP address,” and is sent automatically each time you access any Internet site. From a computer’s IP address, it is possible to determine the general geographic location of that computer, but otherwise it is anonymous.

We do not keep a record of the IP addresses from which users access our site except where you have specifically provided us with information about yourself, in which case we also record your IP address for security purposes.

Howard James Career and Recruitment Services Recruitment will not engage in misleading or deceptive conduct (such as advertising a position as being available when the agency knows no such position exists or knowingly giving misleading information to a job seeker about the nature of a position).
If a job seeker believes that Howard James Career and Recruitment Services Recruitment have acted inappropriately, the job seeker may contact the Department of Fair Trading for information on possible action that may be taken.
